Music plays a central role in life at Norwich Cathedral and our Cathedral Choir, Chamber Choir and Children's Choir play an important part in this along with the many visiting choirs who join us throughout the year.
Norwich Cathedral Choir currently features two independent sets of treble voices: 20 boy choristers aged 8–13 and 24 girl choristers aged 11-18. The alto, tenor and bass parts are sung by six lay clerks (professional singers) and six choral scholars.
We have recently announced an exciting new chapter for our wonderful choir, opening up more opportunities for boys and girls alike.
The Chamber Choir is one of the region’s leading vocal ensembles, made up of about 40 experienced amateur singers.
Norwich Cathedral Children's Choir is a non-auditioned choir for boys and girls in school years 2-6, giving the opportunity to sing together on Saturday mornings and to perform in the Cathedral at special occasions throughout the year.
We welcome choirs from all over the world to sing at Norwich Cathedral when the Cathedral Choir is not in residence. If you are interested in bringing a choir to sing at the Cathedral please contact us.
We are grateful for the support of The Ouseley Church Music Trust.
