What's on

Celebrating of one of the largest pipe organs in the country

With an incredible 5,767 pipes, Norwich Cathedral's organ is one of the biggest organs in the country.

An organ has been the musical centrepiece at the Cathedral for centuries and a major rebuild of today's organ by experts Harrison and Harrison in 2022-23 aims to ensure its magnificent sound it will continue to be enjoyed by future generations.

The £1.8m project was more than a decade in the making and was the instrument’s first complete overhaul since it was rebuilt in 1942, following a fire which partially destroyed the instrument in April 1938.

Support music at Norwich Cathedral

Play a part in the wonderful musical life of Norwich Cathedral by joining The Statham Society.

Named after Heathcote Statham, Norwich Cathedral’s organist from 1928 to 1966, the society aims to raise funds to support the many musical projects that take place at Norwich Cathedral outside of the normal pattern of worship, including concerts, recordings, commissioning of new music, choir tours and education opportunities.
