Remembrance Sunday Service
09 Nov 2025

Those who have lost their lives in battle were remembered in a special service at Norwich Cathedral on Remembrance Sunday.
The service followed on from the commemorations in front of Norwich War Memorial, where current and ex service personnel, civic dignitaries, emergency services representatives and civilians gathered in front of the memorial, before taking part in a parade through the city to the Cathedral.

The Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Dr Andrew Braddock, said: “As we remember all those who have died and been injured in the service of our country, we acknowledge the debt we owe them and their loved ones for the freedoms we enjoy. Remembering the costliness of their sacrifice, we commit ourselves afresh to working for peace and justice for all.”

The service was sung by Norwich Cathedral Choir and the address was given by the Archdeacon of Norwich, the Venerable Keith James.

Throughout Remembrancetide a Field of Remembrance has been in place outside the Cathedral's Hostry and a curtain of knitted poppies has been on display at the entrance to St Saviour’s Chapel.
