Norwich Cathedral’s ancient architecture is set to be illuminated in spectacular style by an immersive experience inviting people of all ages to be wowed by a unique journey through time.
The centuries-old stone will be the elaborate backdrop for Time by Luxmuralis, an extraordinary exploration of humanity's relationship with the concept of time, offering audiences an unforgettable journey through history, science, and imagination.
Time by Luxmuralis will run during the autumn half-term holiday from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 October.
Tickets cost £10 for adults (age 16+), £5 for children (age 4-15), and £25 for a family ticket (two adults and up to three children) plus booking fee. Children aged three and under are free.
Time slots can be booked at 15 minute intervals between 5.15pm and 8pm each night.
As visitors move through the Cathedral, they will journey through a series of captivating installations that portray humans as seen through different eras, exploring the fascinating theories of relativity, and the text of H.G. Wells' The Time Machine.
Through the immersive projected artworks, attendees will traverse wormholes, venture inside the intricate workings of clocks, and experience a dramatic narrative that spans from the present day back to the very beginning of everything.
Luxmuralis is the name given to the artistic collaboration between sculptor Peter Walker and composer David Harper, whose immersive fine art, light and sound installations have captivated people across the UK and wider world.
Their spectacular installations have been seen everywhere from Westminster Abbey to The Tower of London and Washington National Cathedral in America - and this autumn you can be a part of their first-ever visit to Norwich Cathedral.
Time by Luxmuralis is suitable for people of all ages.
Entry to Time by Luxmuralis will be via the Cloister and our friendly stewards will be there to guide you to where you need to go.
Tickets are booked in 15 minute intervals and we encourage visitors to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before their time slot.
Once you enter the Cathedral, you will journey around the building discovering unique projections accompanied by an immersive soundscape, with the whole experience culminating in an awe-inspiring finale in the Nave.
Visits are expected to last on average 45 minutes but you are very welcome to sit, reflect, and take your time exploring the installations at your own pace.
We are pleased to offer a free essential companion ticket to people with a disability who would be unable to attend without an essential companion. Please email events@cathedral.org.uk for further details.
There will be an accessible route into the experience and the Cathedral's stewards will also be on hand to provide assistance.

Please aim to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before your time slot as you will not be able to enter any earlier than the time on your ticket.
If you arrive early you will need to queue outside until your booked time slot.
If you are running late, our stewards will make every effort to allow access but this cannot be guaranteed.
Tickets are non-refundable and the date and entry time cannot be amended once a booking has been made.
