Cathedrals Cycle Relay visits Norwich
02 Jun 2025

The Cathedrals Cycle Relay has wheeled its way through Norwich as cyclists visited the city on the latest part of the nationwide cycle challenge.
The 2,000-mile relay ride connects the country’s 42 Church of England Cathedrals and the CCR's bronze friendship baton changed hands in Norwich on Sunday 1 and Monday 2 June.

Cyclists travelling from Ely Cathedral delivered the baton to Norwich on Sunday afternoon before Evensong and the baton was placed on the Cathedral's High Altar overnight.
On Monday morning, the next leg of the relay saw cyclists setting off from Norwich to St Edmundsbury Cathedral.

This year is the third Cathedrals Cycle Relay along the Cathedrals Cycle Route. The relay started from Bradford Cathedral on 24 May and is travelling clockwise around the country visiting all 42 English Cathedrals, and finishing back at Bradford on 5 July.
The Cathedrals Cycle Route is designed to promote mental and physical wellbeing, sustainable travel and spiritual exploration and caters for everyone – from those completing short segments of it to dedicated riders undertaking the full 2,000-mile circular journey.
Launched from Newcastle Cathedral in 2021, the initiative from Dr Shaun Cutler has since evolved into a celebration of community, connection and the great outdoors.
