Non-Executive Member of Chapter, Lay Canon, Safeguarding Friend
Marie-Lyse Numuhoza MBE

Marie-Lyse is originally from Rwanda. Having experienced the horrors of the genocide of 1994, she dedicated her life to promote peace-building, human rights, social justice and social development.
For the past 20 years, she has worked on a variety of projects which have promoted social development such as the Community Champions Programme and the Youth of Today Project. She also campaigns within non-governmental organisations which work for peace and sustainable development.
Marie-Lyse’s local interests range from refugees’ and asylum seekers’ matters, mental wellbeing, care for senior citizens, care for Christian families and vulnerable young people.
As a Lay Canon, she is a voice of the community into the Cathedral. She also strives to bring to the people of Norwich and Norfolk what the Cathedral represents, which is healing, hope, and joy.
