Honouring our musical past by creating future opportunities

The Statham Society, which has HRH The Duke of Edinburgh as its patron, was set up in 2022 following on from the success of the They Shall Laugh and Sing Music Appeal and it is named after Heathcote Statham, Norwich Cathedral’s organist from 1928 to 1966.

The society aims to raise funds to support the many musical projects that take place at Norwich Cathedral outside of the normal pattern of worship, including concerts, recordings, commissioning of new music and choir tours, and ongoing education opportunities for the children in our choirs.

Membership benefits

Music supporters can join the Statham Society for as little as £10 a month and in return members are sent a newsletter every term, given advance notice of performances and priority booking, and invited to exclusive behind the scenes events.
