Auxiliary Verger

We are currently recruiting for an Auxiliary Verger to join Norwich Cathedral's team of Vergers.

Our Vergers play a key role in the day to day in running of the Cathedral and are also ambassadors for the Cathedral as they are often the first people visitors meet.

The Auxiliary Verger post will support the team with a wide mix of tasks including:

• arranging chairs and furnishings for special occasions and events
• operating audiovisual, sound, streaming and lighting systems
• regular cleaning and maintenance inside the Cathedral and ancillary buildings
• assisting visitors
• working as part of the wider Cathedral team, including supporting the Close Welcomers and the Welcome and Donations Team.

Please note this is a zero hours post and hours of work will depend on the needs of the organisation. Hours of work may include early or late working times, weekends and bank holidays.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 8 September 2025. Interviews will be held on Tuesday 16 September 2025.
