Opportunity to join pilgrimage to St Olav, Trondheim
15 Mar 2026

Norwich Cathedral has just renewed its covenanted relationship with Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway, and in September the Revd Dr Peter Doll, Norwich Cathedral's Canon Librarian and Vice Dean, will be leading a pilgrimage there to strengthen bonds of fellowship and to enjoy the delights of this northern city.
Nidaros Cathedral is the shrine of St Olav, the ‘perpetual king of Norway’, who was martyred in 1030, and it was built with the help of English masons.
The visit will include a day trip to Tautra to visit an ancient and a contemporary Cistercian monastery, an opportunity to walk the final section of the St Olav Pilgrimage Way, and worship in the Cathedral.
The pilgrimage will take place from 17 to 21 September 2026 and costs £1,180 per person.
The trip is being organised by Pilgrimage People which is based in Fakenham.
The above button will take you to the Pilgrimage People booking page. Once on this page, you will need to select Norway in the 'Where would you like to go? section.
Once you have done this, under the 'Choose a date' section you should be able to select Pilgrimage to St Olav, Trondheim (17/09/26 - 21/09/26).
