We look forward to welcoming you to Norwich Cathedral over the Christmas and New Year period.
To help you plan your visit, below are the latest details of when the Cathedral will be open throughout the holidays. We encourage you to check back at this page before your visit.
Sunday 21 December and Wednesday 24 December
On Sunday 21 and Wednesday 24 December the Cathedral will be closed between 1.30pm and 2pm due to preparations for the Christmas Procession with Carols.
All are welcome to join us for this festive service which is the same on both days. The Cathedral will open at 2pm for people attending the service on Sunday and Wednesday. Click on the buttons below for full details.
As the Christmas Procession takes place throughout the whole Cathedral and is expected to attract large numbers, the Cathedral and Cloister will be closed to general visitors between 1.30pm and 5pm on Sunday 21 and Wednesday 24 December.

- Wed 24 Dec: 7am-6.30pm (closed 1.30pm-2pm) and reopening at 10pm for Midnight Mass
- Thur 25 Dec: 7am-4.30pm
- Fri 26 to Sat 27 Dec: 8am-4.30pm
- Sun 28 Dec: 7am-4.30pm
- Mon 29 Dec to Thur 1 Jan: 8am-4.30pm
- Fri 2 Jan: Normal hours resume of 7am-6.30pm daily.
Refectory Bakery and Café
- Wed 24 Dec: 8am-1pm
- Thur 25 to Sun 28 Dec: Closed
- Mon 29 Dec: 8am-6pm
- Tue 30 Dec: 8am-6pm
- Wed 31 Dec: 8am-4pm
- Thur 1 Jan: Closed
- Fri 2 Jan: Normal hours resume of 8am-6pm Mon to Sat and 8.30am-4pm Sun.
Gift Shop
Do to unforeseen circumstances there may be some changes to the gift shop opening hours over the holidays, including on the afternoon of Sunday 20 December. We apologise for any inconvenience.
Library
The Cathedral Library is open 10am-4pm on Tuesday 23 December. After this date, the Library will be closed until 10am on Tuesday 6 January.
