Norwich Cathedral has been given an award from the Royal British Legion for its support of Norfolk's Armed Forces Community.
The Cathedral was awarded the Major B Boswell Cup in recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution to the Royal British Legion Norfolk.

Lt General Jonathan Page, County President of the RBL, said: "The Chairman and I felt we should recognise the important role Norwich Cathedral, the Dean, Chapter, Clergy and lay staff, have had over many years in supporting Norfolk’s Armed Forces Community. In particular in enabling Remembrance, commemorating and honouring those who have served and sacrificed. Remembrance is a central part of the Royal British Legion’s purpose.
"Your support was notably demonstrated by the moving service the Cathedral held to mark the 100th Anniversary of the RBL’s founding and by the ‘front footed’ way the Cathedral re-established the November Remembrance Ceremonies, post Covid restrictions. The RBL Norfolk takes comfort and pride in its enduring links to the Cathedral."
Norwich Cathedral's Vice Dean, the Revd Dr Peter Doll, said: "The Dean and Chapter highly value the Cathedral’s relationship with the Royal British Legion, and those occasions when we honour the sacrifices made by the Forces of the Crown are focal events in our year. We are deeply grateful for this recognition of our service to those who serve the life of the nation."
