A video message for Advent

The Revd Dr Peter Doll, Canon Librarian and Vice Dean at Norwich Cathedral, shares a video message for Advent.

"The world of nature seems to echo the gloom in the world around us; the days are drawing in, each day shorter than the one before it, the darkness each day seemingly more insistent and profound.

But it is precisely in these dark days that the Church chooses to prepare in the season of Advent for the birth of a Saviour, Jesus Christ, to redeem the world. Gathered around an Advent wreath, each Sunday the Church lights an additional candle, the strengthening light encouraging us to look in eager anticipation for the one known as the Light of the World."
