Specialist Tour: The Graffiti of Norwich Cathedral
18 Apr 2026, 11:15

Norwich Cathedral contains over 5,000 individual graffiti inscriptions from the Middle Ages, dating from as far back as the 12th century – plus hundreds more, from the Reformation all the way through to 2024!
They were created for various reasons, including a curse on a local family, but very often they are simply prayers made solid in stone.
Medieval ships sail across the stonework, jostling aside images of wading birds and elaborate compass-drawn designs.
Join this Specialist Tour for an entirely new perspective on the Cathedral’s already rich and vibrant past.
This tour starts at 11.15am on Saturday 18 April.
Tickets cost £7 per person plus a small booking fee.
Please be aware, our special guided tours always sell out quickly so make sure you book a ticket as soon as you can.
