Specialist Tour: The Creatures of Norwich Cathedral
24 Jan 2026, 14:15

Would you expect to find dragons and snakes in Norwich Cathedral? A dog stealing food? A pelican feeding her chicks? Or a fox peeping out at a doorway?
There are a host of creatures, real and mythical, in the Cathedral – in stained glass, carvings, monuments, coats of arms and graffiti dating from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Strange as it is to find them here, there is often a very important meaning in their presence.
Join us on this Specialist Tour to search for them and explore the significance they had for the people who placed them here in the Cathedral.
This tour starts at 2.15pm on Saturday 24 January.
Tickets cost £7 per person plus a small booking fee.
Please be aware, our special guided tours always sell out quickly so make sure you book a ticket as soon as you can.
Please note that tickets for specialist tours are non-refundable.
