Library exhibition: 1526
3 February - 30 April
Location: Library

The exhibition focuses on works connected with 1526, by four different writers whose work was integral to the progress of the Reformation:
William Tyndale's New Testament in English was first printed in 1526 (although our copy is 1549);
Desiderius Erasmus was reputedly the most learned man in Europe;
Josse van Clichtove was in his day a well-regarded theologian and used his learning to defend Catholicism and attack Luther
William Bonde was a brother in the only Bridgettine house in England, Syon Abbey, concerned with developing personal piety.
Four books in one year, providing an insight into the developing Reformation.
The exhibition is open with normal library opening times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 10am to 4pm
A work by Erasmus - his Paraphrase on the gospels will feature in the NCCL session of 14 March, 'How Tudor reformation came to a Norfolk parish in three objects' - click on the link for more information.
