Between the spring of 1942 and summer of 1945 Great Britain played host to three million young American serviceman with most stationed in East Anglia.
The 8th and 9th Army Air Force occupied airfields across our region, including many in and around Norwich.
Speaker Clive Stevens has been researching this ‘Friendly Invasion’ for over 30 years and will tell the fascinating story of the social impact at the time and the incredible legacy left behind when countless military airfields of East Anglia fell silent.
This talk has been organised by the Friends of Norwich Cathedral.
