The Bishop’s Lent Appeal 2026 is raising money to help children from clergy families in Papua New Guinea complete their education at the Martyrs Memorial School, an Anglican school just outside Popondetta.
Clergy families in Papua New Guinea receive no stipend and are reliant on their congregations to support them. It costs about £400 per year to send a clergy child to Martyrs Memorial School, and the children go on into careers such as medicine, governance and teaching.
