A sung service dating back centuries

Evensong has been sung at the Cathedral for hundreds of years and the service usually takes place on Sundays and some Saturdays at 3.30pm and on weekdays at 5.30pm.

Sung by the magnificent Norwich Cathedral Choir, this service is a wonderful way to bring a busy day to a close, whether you have been visiting the Cathedral or before journeying home after work.

Through sublime music, readings from the Bible and prayers, it is a time to rest in the glorious setting of the Cathedral. Here, you can unwind, reflect and pray, and lose yourself in your thoughts in the presence of God.

A booklet is provided to help you follow all that is happening or you can simply let the whole experience wash over and refresh you. On Sundays a sermon provides further food for thought.

On Saturdays and during the school holidays, Evensong may be sung by a visiting choir or a said service of Evening Prayer may take place instead.

Enjoy Evensong online

Evensongs on Tuesdays and Sundays are usually livestreamed on the Norwich Cathedral Services YouTube Channel to enable even more people to enjoy this beautiful service.
