A tribute to Pope Francis

A statement from the Dean of Norwich on the death of Pope Francis:

“Norwich Cathedral is saddened to hear of the death of Pope Francis. He was a steadfast servant of Christ and a friend to the Church of England. We commit him to our Lord Jesus Christ in full assurance of the Resurrection we celebrate this Easter. Our prayers are with our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters worldwide at this time."

At Norwich Cathedral on Monday 21 April, Pope Francis was remembered at the start of the 12 noon Eucharist and at Evening Prayer at 5.30pm, and Chaplains offered a prayer on the hour throughout the day.

The Dean of Norwich attended Mass at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of St John the Baptist on Wednesday 23 April and Solemn Vespers on the evening of Friday 25 April.
