New Honorary Canons welcomed at Evensong
19 Oct 2023

New members of Norwich Cathedral's College of Canons were warmly welcomed at Evensong on Sunday 15 October.
Four new Honorary Canons appointed by the Bishop of Norwich were installed at the service:
- The Revd Karlene Kerr, Team Vicar of Gaywood Team Ministry, King’s Lynn, Rural Dean of Lynn and Bishop's Adviser for UKME matters
- The Revd Damon Rogers, Vicar of Lowestoft St Andrew
- The Revd Helen Jary, Team Rector of Oulton Broad Team Ministry
- The Revd Richard James, Rector of Holy Trinity, Heigham, Norwich
The Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Dr Andrew Braddock, said: "It was very good to welcome Karleen, Damon, Helen and Richard into the College of Canons. They bring a rich and diverse experience of ministry from across the Diocese. I look forward to working with them on strengthening the ties between the Cathedral and the Diocese as a whole."
The Cathedral has 24 Honorary Canons, who, together with 12 Lay Canons, the Archdeacons and Suffragan Bishops make up the College of Canons. This body meets three times a year to worship together, to receive reports from the Dean and Chapter and to think together about the ways in which the Cathedral can contribute to the wider mission of our Diocese.
