Norwich Cathedral’s story celebrated in new guide book edition

Norwich Cathedral’s story through the centuries is being celebrated in a new edition of the guide book which has been published just in time for Christmas.

The new edition of The Story of Norwich Cathedral, revised by the Cathedral’s Canon Librarian, the Revd Dr Peter Doll, and featuring all-new photography, takes readers on a journey through the Cathedral’s 900 years of history from its beginnings as a Benedictine monastery to its role as a modern-day cathedral.

The 50-page book features stunning new images by photographer Bill Smith which cast the spotlight on many of the Cathedral’s epic architectural views as well as some of its more intricate details which all have their own tale to tell.

In the introduction to the book, the Dean of Norwich, the Very Revd Dr Andrew Braddock, said: “This guide helps tell the story of the Cathedral, particularly through its fascinating history, buildings and the treasures they contain. Each generation has left its own mark. Together they comprise a rich response to the story of God’s love revealed in Christ Jesus to which the Cathedral itself is called to bear witness.
