Specialist Tour: The Cathedral in the time of Elizabeth I
04 Jul 2026, 11:15

When Elizabeth I attended a service in Norwich Cathedral during a week-long visit to the city in August 1578, it was after a period of tumultuous change.
Following more than 400 years of relative stability, the 16th century was a time of religious upheaval which profoundly affected the governance of the Cathedral and the use and fabric of its buildings.
Join us on this Specialist Tour as we explore the physical and liturgical consequences of the dissolution of the Benedictine monastery and the English Reformation apparent at that time.
This tour starts at 11.15am on Saturday 4 July.
Tickets cost £7 per person plus a small booking fee.
Please be aware, our special guided tours always sell out quickly so make sure you book a ticket as soon as you can.
Please note that tickets for specialist tours are non-refundable.
