Specialist Tour: Julian of Norwich

Julian of Norwich is the first woman we know of to write a book in English. It’s a great work of literature and of devotion, but to write it when she did was also very dangerous.

Join us on this Specialist Tour to find out why, as we explore who Julian was, what her life was like, and how she fits into medieval society and religious life.

We'll look at the possible points of contact Julian may have had with the Cathedral and explore why she is so often depicted with a cat!

This tour starts at 2.15pm on Wednesday 6 May.

Arriving for the tour

Just ask a member of the welcome and donations team when you arrive at the Hostry entrance to the Cathedral, and they will direct you to the starting point for the tour.
